Your BlazerID is who you are at UAB – to the computers, at least. It’s your e-mail address, your BlazerNET login, your Canvas username, and a whole lot of other important online services.

Contact your instructor immediately. Your instructor's contact information can be found in your course syllabus. 

If you are taking a timed exam, the timer shows the running time and counts down until time expires. If you are taking a timed exam, or you are taking an exam close to the due date or lock date and time, Canvas generates warning messages to help you manage your time in the exam. Canvas will also warn you if you lose the connection to the internet during the exam. If at any time you get logged out of Canvas while taking a exam, you will see a warning pop-up banner. To resume your exam, click the Login button. If your exam time has expired, the exam automatically submits. If you are running into any challenges accessing your exam, please contact your instructor immediately. 

If a student can resubmit an assignment, the New Attempt button displays in the assignment page. If a student has used all their submission attempts, the New Attempt button will display as disabled. Contact your instructor if you submitted the wrong assignment and/or having issues resubmitting your assignment. Your instructor's contact information can be found in your course syllabus.  

As a student at UAB, you will use Office 365. Students can access their student email account by going to, http://mail.uab.edu/, and logging in using their BlazerID and Password. For more details on how to create, reply, or forward emails, please visit:

  • Log into Canvas (https://uab.instructure.com/). 
  • Click the Courses tab on the navigation menu on the left of the screen.
  • Click the All Courses link from the menu that appears.

  • Navigate to Canvas at https://uab.instructure.com/
  • Login with your BlazerID and Password
  • Click on your course(s) located on your Canvas Dashboard or navigate to the Courses tab
  • Click on the Navigation Menu located in the top lefthand corner
  • Select Syllabus

Depending on the hold on your account, you will be restricted from registration, transcript request, grade report generation, accounts receivable, enrollment verification, application creation, and compliance.

 

To find out why a hold may be on your account:

 

After logging into BlazerNET (https://www.uab.edu/blazernet), look for the "Holds" link in the center column of the page, to the right of your student photo.

 

You should be able to see what department your hold is in, and you can contact that department to resolve the hold.

Students without holds are automatically registered for the upcoming semester. Registration happens in batches. If you do not have a hold on your account and you believe you should be registered, please contact your Student Success Coach. 

Your Financial Aid can be accessed through BlazerNET by clicking on the My Financial Aid section.

 

This is also sent to your UAB email address with instructions on how to accept online. Your Financial Aid Award Letter is also sent to your UAB email address with instructions on how to accept online.

 

In this section you can check the status of your aid to see if you have any outstanding requirements yet to be fulfilled as well as accept your aid.
